Atnre Alleyne
Founder and Executive Director - DelawareCAN: The Delaware Campaign for Achievement Now
Atnre Alleyne is the founding Executive Director of the Delaware Campaign for Achievement Now (CAN). CAN is part of the national 50-State Campaign for Achievement Now network and uses research, grassroots organizing, and legislative engagement to ensure Delaware's education system is excellent for every student. Prior to launching CAN, Atnre was the Director of Talent Management at the Delaware Department of Education where he led policy and research efforts pertaining to teacher and leader effectiveness. Atnre is the co-founder of TeenSHARP, an organization that prepares students of color in Delaware, Philadelphia, and New Jersey for top colleges. He has worked in the private sector at international polling and consulting firm, The Gallup Organization, and human resources consulting firm, Hay Group. He holds a BA in economics and a MPA degree from Rutgers University-Camden. He also holds and an MA in political science from the University of Delaware. He was named an American Graduate Champion by WHYY in 2016 and is a 2013 recipient of the Association of American Colleges and Universities annual K. Scott Becker
Entrepreneur, Owner - Coastal Car Wash
Scott is a Delaware native who grew up near the lively University of Delaware campus. Scott graduated from Salesianum School in Wilmington, DE. He earned his BS from York College of Pennsylvania in Sports Management with three business minors and cum laude honors. Scott was a 4-year collegiate soccer player and the captain of the team during his senior season. Scott began his professional experience as a general manager of a full service car wash overseeing a staff of 10-20 employees daily. At 22 years old and managing employees 10-20 years older than he, challenges were presented every day. He was able to increase the business sales approximately 25% within the first year of employment. He moved back to Pennsylvania to work in food sales for a couple of years before deciding to take a leap of faith with his wife when they purchased a car wash at the ages of 24 and 23. After a year of due diligence and writing presentation plans to the bank, the bank approved their documents while stating the plan was the best they had ever seen. Tianna Bethune
Deputy Attorney General - State of Delaware
Tianna Bethune, Esq. attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated with a BA in Mass Media Arts in 2012. After graduating with honors from Clark Atlanta University, Tianna attended the University of Georgia's School of Law. While in law school, she served in various leadership capacities, such as the President and Programming Director of the American Constitution Society, as well as the Community Service Chair and Advocacy Chair for the Black Law Student's Association. She also spent her summers working for non-profit organizations such as the Center for Constitutional Rights in New York City and the Empire Justice Center in Rochester, New York. As a law clerk for both organizations, Tianna worked alongside community leaders and low-income residents to provide legal services, while advocating for the reformation of policies negatively affecting the members of their communities. Tianna is now a Deputy Attorney General at the Delaware Department of Justice. In this role, she represents the State in criminal proceedings in the New Castle County Superior Court. Michael Bradshaw
Lieutenant - New Castle County Police
Lieutenant Bradshaw was raised in New Jersey and graduated from the University of Delaware. In 2001, Lieutenant Bradshaw was hired as a police officer with the Newark Police Department and worked in the patrol and special operations units. In 2004, Lieutenant Bradshaw joined the New Castle County Police. He worked as a patrol and field training officer before becoming a Detective and working in the child abuse and homicide units. In 2012, Lieutenant Bradshaw was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assigned as a patrol district supervisor. He supervised patrol officers, served as a field training supervisor and acting squad commander. In November 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned as the Special Projects Section Executive Officer. He currently oversees the Research, Accreditation, Media and Policy Unit and is responsible for the agency's grant management. Lieutenant Bradshaw is a certified police instructor and the lead instructor for Delaware Criminal Code at the New Castle County Police Academy. Michael Curry
Assistant Chair and Assistant Professor of Undergraduate Teacher Preparation - Wilmington University
Michael Curry is a native of Devon, Pennsylvania, but he has called Delaware his home for the past 18 years. After receiving his bachelor's degree from University of Delaware in English Education, he spent ten years teaching English at Cape Henlopen High School where he was voted Teacher of the Year and also served as the English Department Chair. He then moved on to Delaware Technical Community College where he worked first as an English instructor and was promoted to the role of Instructional Designer where he helped faculty design, develop, and deliver face-to-face and online courses. Michael also taught faculty strategies for meaningful and engaging instruction and assessment in all course formats. Now Michael works for Wilmington University as Assistant Chair and Assistant Professor of Undergraduate Teacher Preparation. He is responsible for developing and delivering a rigorous and relevant teacher prep curriculum that can be delivered as face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses.
