Kelly Bachman
Communications Manager - City of Newark
With over a decade of experience in state government communications, Kelly Bachman recently focused her efforts locally, joining the City of Newark as their communications manager. In this role, she leads a team of communications professionals focused on applying innovative approaches and operational improvements to all communications by and impacting the City, its residents, visitors and businesses. Prior to her current role, she served as a member of Governor Jack A. Markell's senior staff for three years - as the Governor's social media manager and, most recently, as his press secretary and primary spokesperson. Previously, Kelly was the lead communications specialist for the Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families for seven years, where she crafted and implemented a comprehensive communication plan, served as the primary media liaison, wrote speeches and maintained the Department's website. Joel M. Brown II serves on the leadership team at Nemours- A.I. duPont Hospital for Children. In his role as Director of Respiratory Care and Sleep Medicine Services, he focuses on leading clinical excellence and staff development for over one hundred medical professionals who provide respiratory care and sleep medicine services for the pediatric and neonatal patient population. He also manages the strategic planning, staffing logistics, business operations, and budgets for these two robust clinical departments. Joel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Respiratory Therapy from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. He is an accomplished Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Delaware with over seventeen years of experience and an internationally recognized public speaker, researcher, and author. Kathryn attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, achieving her degree, Masters in Science of Physical Therapy, in 2003. Kathryn gained professional experience at one of the then top rated sub-acute hospitals in the country at Kessler Institute, now called Select Medical, in New Jersey. Since moving to Delaware in 2006, she has become an integral part of the rehabilitation community here in Sussex County in the private practice domain, directing two clinics, and also in home care physical therapy. Now, Kathryn has also become a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) and a Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC). She has currently directed her professional ambition in becoming the premier fall prevention and independent living expert in Delaware through in-home Physical Therapy and home modification services. Mark P. Del Vecchio
Battalion Operations NCO, Master Sergeant - Delaware Army National Guard
Mark Del Vecchio graduated from Dover High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Business from Delaware State University and his Masters in Homeland Security from Wilmington University. Mark began his professional career working with low-income and minority farmers to improve their agricultural operations and build sustainable business models. He moved on to manage the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve where he helped preserve and protect critical Delaware species and habitat. Mark joined the Delaware Army National Guard straight out of high school and has been on active duty since 2006. As a Battalion Operations Sergeant, he oversees the operation of a 600 man battalion that consists of Engineer, Transportation, Maintenance and Military Police units. In his current role, he ensures that each unit is ready for use during emergencies both in the State of Delaware and for Federal missions abroad. Mark has deployed twice to the Middle East and has served short tours at home along the Arizona Border and Gulfport Mississippi in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Brian DeMott

Brian V. DeMott was born in Seaford, Delaware in 1989. He graduated from Seaford Senior High School in 2007 and went on to attend the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He graduated from Mary Washington in 2011 with a bachelors of arts in Political Science. After college, Mr. DeMott returned to Delaware and attended the Delaware Law School of Widener University. While in law school, Mr. DeMott externed for The Honorable Mary Pat Thynge of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. He also volunteered as a law clerk for the Delaware Office of the Public Defender. After graduating with honors from the Delaware Law School in 2014, Mr. DeMott served as a Judicial Law Clerk to The Honorable T. Henley Graves of the Superior Court of the State of Delaware. During that time, he researched complex civil and criminal law issues and assisted Judge Graves in drafting several judicial opinions. The judicial opinions addressed issues ranging from employment discrimination to post-conviction relief.
